Our Cemetery, Sacred Land

Setting aside land for sacred and burial purposes was one of the first things that the early European immigrants did when they began to settle in this area in the early years of the 18th century. The cemetery across the street was founded in 1709 (according to the current Gregorian calendar, or 1708 according to the old Julian calendar, which was still in effect in those days, and thus the confusion over the year). It is impressive that it has been in continuous existence since that time, and it is a popular cemetery for genealogists to visit for information on the early settlers in this area.

Ewing Church Cemetery continues to serve the purpose of providing a final resting place for our loved ones. The Ewing Church Cemetery is a non-sectarian cemetery serving all faiths and nationalities. Currently, management of the cemetery is shared with us by Memorial Properties, which takes responsibility for grave openings, closings, and the burial process. Nondenominational and ecumenical interments can be in traditional graves, mausoleums, or columbariums. The property is a lovely country setting with over 50 acres, and is rich in history and tradition.  Today, the cemetery is embarking on a new era and future expansion. It is recognized as one of the most beautiful and well kept cemeteries in the NJ/PA area.
